Spectre is a vintage apothecary cocktail bar that champions community, embraces imperfection, and celebrates mental wellness

Repair & Rebirth

Redefining sustainability in Singapore’s context where the only natural resource is people, Spectre highlights the need for repair. “Physical repair begins when you sleep but mental repair begins when you are ready”, comments Andrew Pang.

Inspired by Kintsugi, the Japanese art of putting broken pottery pieces back together with gold, Spectre’s concept incorporates talk therapy techniques like mindfulness, journaling and behavioural activation in the venue's experience. Developing strong social bonds is also what the bar hopes to achieve. The bar will hold regular workshops like art jamming, wine tasting and whisky masterclasses with mindfulness.

“A spectre is an unknown presence in our lives” says Inch Chua, “Carl Jung believed everyone carries a shadow, that the shadow self is not inherently negative or evil but a natural and necessary part of human nature. I believe it’s important that our personal spectres are embodied in our conscious life, and spectre to be a safe space to befriend yourself and others.”
